This is a team that I have been using recently and I like it so far, so I want to build off of it. For this reason I thought I should make this RMT.

Hypno
- Hypnosis
- Psychic
- Thunder Wave
- Rest

Lead Sleeper. I wanted a slow sleeper to lead with and chose this creep over Exeggutor because it has no common type weaknesses and I have a bit of a weakness for using under used Pokemon. He can also paralyze foes more reliably. I used to run Seismic Toss/Mega Kick in the last slot but I feel it never really accomplished much without a lot of luck. I attack lead Gengar with Psychic and try to put all other common leads to sleep except for Alakazam who I sometimes paralyze. I also sometimes switch to Chansey if I expect a Thunder Wave from the opposing lead. In the mid-game Hypno usually stalls and spreads paralysis to one other Pokemon. If Hypno is asleep I switch in to absorb weak attacks and status moves in order to pass a few turns of sleep with the hope of waking up later. I am open to leading with different Pokemon.

Gengar
- Hypnosis
- Night Shade
- Confuse Ray
- Explosion

Backup sleeper, "surprise" Normal immunity, and half of the theme I was going for. I try to bring it in when it is least expected. At first it felt pretty weird for me to use Gengar outside of the lead position, but I have gotten used to it. Hypnosis and Explosion are staple moves, Night Shade is my only basic attack and provides consistent damage, and Confuse Ray is for hax. I like that it walls pests like Persian, Victreebel, and almost all users of Wrap (Lickitung has Earthquake). Switching into Explosion is fun too. I could change Confuse Ray for Thunderbolt and Rest seems interesting as well. I always carry Explosion but I am not sure if changing Hypnosis for another move is a good idea.

Chansey
- Ice Beam
- Soft-Boiled
- Thunder Wave
- Thunderbolt

Standard Chansey. I use it in every team. Rarely have I ever used her other options. I think the standard set is mandatory for this team.

144.png

Articuno
- Blizzard
- Ice Beam
- Hyper Beam
- Rest

Cannot be frozen, immune to Earthquake, and has the strongest nonboosted special attack in the game. I always wanted to try a team with Articuno but I never felt confident about how I fit it in a team. Now that I have I am starting to like it. Having both Blizzard and Ice Beam might seem dumb but Blizzard runs out of PP pretty quickly, and Articuno doesn't have a lot of other good options anyway. Hyper Beam is for weak and paralyzed stallers. Double-Edge is weak and I haven't tried Sky Attack yet. I like Rest and I can probably swap Hyper Beam for Reflect or even Mimic. Removing Blizzard takes away too much power. I sometimes do a double switch to Gengar followed by Articuno to avoid a Normal Type move and the following Earthquake. It also switches in nicely to Exeggutor, but being a decent switch to Snorlax and Tauros in a pinch is what I like best. Articuno is a monster when the opposing Chansey and Ice Type resisters are no longer a threat.

Tauros
- Body Slam
- Hyper Beam
- Blizzard
- Earthquake

Standard Tauros. A RBY OU staple. I didn't want to get experimental with him in this team and there is no good reason not to use him.

Golem
- Earthquake
- Body Slam
- Rock Slide
- Explosion

Standard Golem. It walls Electric Types except for Raichu who is so uncommon that I have never seen it in battle. It can explode and it resists Hyper Beam. I used to use Substitute instead of Rock Slide but I felt it was time for a change. Rhydon is stronger, but I like having Explosion. I think Golem is a great fit for this team.

To summarize I think this is a fun team to build off of. My biggest problems are Jynx with Rest, paralyzed Chansey (especially variants with Reflect), and Slowbro. I can easily replace Articuno with Lapras or Cloyster. With that I might as well replace Gengar with Exeggutor or Starmie or something. I don't like using 3 physicals, so if I were to use Snorlax it would replace Golem, as well as swapping Gengar for something more reliable perhaps.

So there it is. Tell me what you think. I am open to criticism and suggestions.

As with a lot of non-Egg teams, Rhydon and opposing Golem can kinda give you fits. You can pull off some trickery, particularly with Chansey and Articuno (and maybe Golem for outspeeding Rhydon), to fight them, but the fact remains that you don't have a good safe thing to switch into them on turn 1, and that can be a problem. Egg > Hypno might help you there, you can still run lead Gar anyway.

Cray is funny on Gengar, but the fact remains that it's pretty unreliable. I never liked it because it's just as likely to be useless as it is to save your arse. Tbolt gives you a much more reliable way to attack opposing aquatics, such as Slowbro and Lapras, both of which can pose big threats to you and can switch in all day against Articuno.

Jynx with Rest

Rest Jynx doesn't work against teams with Tauros. You have Tauros. What's the problem here?

Use Tbolt on Gar (you should be doing this anyway; Gar's synergy with Articuno depends on its ability to defeat Starmie and Lapras, which it doesn't do without Tbolt).

Your Hypno is not very scary. It should be running something to make it scarier, or you might as well just run Jynx (note that Chansey Ice Beam/Tbolt + Tauros Body Slam + Tauros Hyper Beam is a guaranteed 3HKO on Hypno, so it's not Resting safely on Chansey anyway).

Given that you want to use Gengar and Articuno, Gengar is not the sleep bait, and I'd give it TBolt too.
It's very difficult to leave Egg out of the 6 in a non-wrapping team.
Sadly, every lead that can't deal with Jynx is a bad (risky) lead, use Egg as a lead at that point.
At this moment you are not that weak to Zapdos, and Gengar can take booms: I'd use Snorlax over Golem. If you want to use Egg, Golem is more legit, but Reflect Chansey can cover Snorlax's back. Ice Beam/Tbolt/Reflect/Softboiled as you go for the freeze with Articuno, Chansey and maybe Snorlax (if you want Blizzard to hurt both Egg and Golem/Rhydon)
