Community Tutor Signups

If you wish to be a tutor, sign up in this thread. The appropriate tutoring management council will then decide upon whether to approve you. These are the traits we would like in our tutors:

1. Tier and Metagame Knowledge
2. Patience and Temperment
3. Communication Skills
4. Activity and Reliability
5. Enthusiasm for helping others

If you are not accepted as a tutor, we will send you short feedback on why you weren't accepted, in the context of the 5 listed desired characteristics. We are aiming for quality over quantity.

Tutees self-describe at 3 different levels, Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. Heuristically, an Intermediate player can comfortably get decently high on the ladder, whilst an advanced player can get comfortably to near or at the top of the ladder and go reasonably deep into tournaments. All tutors will be expected to be able to tutor at least Intermediate-level tutees. The tutoring council will decide on what level the tutor who signed up can be permitted to formally tutor at.

Tiers in which tutors are currently permitted to sign up for: RBY 1U, GSC 1U-L, ADV 1U-L, HGSS 1U

You are permitted to sign up and specify that you only wish to tutor in a non-English language, but please be clear about that in the 'Other Comments:' section.

Tutors are expected to inform the tutoring council when they feel that their tutoring session with a tutee is over.

Tutors are expected to create a thread titled '[Username]'s Tutoring Reports' or something similar. In this thread, they should post brief summaries of their tutoring sessions in bullet-point form.

PPL: Went 5-1, best record in DPP in the tour, these were bo3
POCL: Undefeated in DPP, 4-0 record. I was chosen to play DPP in the finals of the tournament
2017 PPWC: currently in the finals, I went 10-1 in games on the way to the final

 

Reapplying for tutor status in HGSS 1U (also ADV if I could get given a look):

Results:
Won HGSS MT #5 and tied for second-most points during the season overall
Made it to the second round of the HGSS WC and knocked out tjdaas (who was the 'favorite' to win, so, uh, yeah)
I somehow maintain a positive win-loss record vs sunnyoras in HGSS (this is the only tier where I do, btw), so, uh, yeah.

In ADV I haven't done much but I have earned the grudging respect of my east teammates so, also there's this one game against a competent player for a semi-major cash tour which I utterly dominated - [Gen 3] OU replay: Feed the Crows vs. Southern Drawl - Pokémon Showdown
