    Award: Best Newcomer
    Name:
    The_Joker
    Reason:
I dunno if he started RBY a bit before 2014, but he only started RBY OU seasons in 2014, and he's gathered the most points out of any newcomer and won a master tournament.

    Award: Best Innovator
    Name:
    Isa
    Reason:
I'm not an expert in this area, but he did make Mister Tim self-destruct by using an Aerodactyl in a master tournament final if I remember correctly.

    Award: Best Player
    Name:
    marcoasd
    Reason:
    The MJ of RBY.

    Award: Best Mentor
    Name:
    marcoasd
    Reason:
Only person I've seen mentoring to be honest.

    Award: Best Discussion Creator
    Name:
    GGFan
    Reason:
Seemed to create the most discussion on Pokémon Perfect.

    Award: Outstanding Achievement
    Name:
    Ortheore
    Reason:
Perfect points in World Championship #2.

    Award: Career Achievement
    Name:
    Crystal_
    Reason:
Great player, great researcher, great person.

    Name: Crystal_
Reason: Actually changed the RBY metagame through his discoveries. Nothing anyone else has done for the past few years rivals this.

    Award: Best Innovator
    Name: Marcoasd
Reason: I think someone made kangaskhan work :p

this is a really peculiar award isn't it.

    Award: Best Mentor
    Name: Raish
Reason: Whilst I'd still probably vote for Marco, he deserves a nom for being pretty willing to share knowledge about the game (and about other players).. taught me a bit about how I play as well. I think over the more recent weeks he's perhaps fulfilled that role more (for me) - then again, as of recent, it's not something I've needed as much. And hey all of you are great to talk to and that's what I love about this place.

Can only make 1 nomination per category ;~; more innovators need mention

Best Newcomer - Best player who started within the last year.

Either The_Joker or ALLALA. I'll go with The_Joker because he won a Master Tournament, even though ALLALA did really well this year, too.

Best Innovator - The player who has built the most innovative teams.

Using bad Pokemon doesn't mean you're innovative. I would go with someone who used unconventional Pokemon and/or movesets; therefore, I vote for marcoasd, who utilized Sing really well and was great at building various teams with slight, nuanced differences.

Best Player - The 'best' player at the moment.

Marco is the obvious choice, but I vote for myself and ALLALA as 2nd place candidates.

Best Mentor - The player who has imparted the most wisdom to fellow RBY OU Players.

Marco. He helped people build teams and gave them advice. Maybe Raish was helpful, too, but he's not active here. Achievements on other communities shouldn't count.

Best Discussion Creator - The player who creates the most valuable discussions for RBY OU.

Under no circumstances would I vote for Crystal despite bias from Isa's forum, for he has no presence on this community. If it counts I'll vote for myself because I created the interesting MOTY thread, which I'll finish soon.

Outstanding Achievement - The player who has achieved the most in the past year in any number of aspects in RBY OU.

Why would Crystal be a nominee? Did he even play in one tournament? I also don't think Ortheore should be a nominee because winning one tournament obviously pales in comparison to winning six (no offense to Ortheore of course, whose accomplishment does mean something). I vote for marcoasd.

Career Achievement - The player who has achieved the most throughout their career in any number of aspects in RBY OU.

Marcoasd for having one of the most dominant years in competitive Pokemon history. He achieved more in one year than most people will in ten.

    Award: Best Newcomer
Name: ALLALA (as i found out you cany vote for yourself just dont count this)
Reason an award like "Becoming strong in RBY in 3 months" would better suit me lol because all my achievements and site awards happened since September and till now so nvm
Honorable mentions: Mister Tim who started RBY'ing closely at the same time I did and got his wins in season 4 but has much more to improve.
In general interesting thing about us two is that the Russian-speaking RBY community that started slowly growing in power during this year. In addition to GGfan (who can partly be considered a part of it), Mister Tim and I got some good results this year

    Award: Best Player
    Name: marcoasd
Reason: well it's much easier to count his RBY losses than his RBY wins especially giving a single look at Player Rankings.

    Award: Best Mentor
    Name: marcoasd
Reason: Actually the one who helped and helps me master my mad RBY hax skills.
Honorable mention: Isa - actually I started RBY'ing for RBY2K10 site's tour and Isa was surprised at it and he helped me study basics of the tier.

    Award: Outstanding achievement
    Name: marcoasd
Reason: Winning 7/9 MT's isn't a bad result, is it?
Honorable mentions: mibuchiha losing at every 1st round of MT during the season but at the same time getting to WC finals in the same season. Mister Tim , I don't understand how could he even get all 2nd and 3rd places with his RBY knowledge

    Award: Best innovator
    Name: none
Reason: There are a lot of good people that tried to introduce something new to RBY this year like Raish marcoasd Isa Ortheore and so on, but I can't name one who did a huge change in the innovation of battling so nope, BUT here comes the next nomination

    Award: Best Discussion Creator
    Name: Crystal_
Reason: On the contrary to the previous nomination, here's the person who made a huge step in the development of the RBY battling with his discoveries, that can't be underestimated even considering the fact Crystal is not an active member of PokemonPerfect community
Honorable mentions: Lutra (for all the work done here) Actaeon (RBY book), magicmushroom

    Award: Career Achievement
    Name: Crystal_
Reason: welp, marcoasd could be here for obvious reasons, but let him win this next year. Crystal's superRBY skillz in combination with researches he does and his experience make him the perfect candidate for this award

    Award: Best Newcomer
    Name: ALLALA
Reason: The_Joker is in a grey area (and I saw him coming), while ALLALA was a pure noob. Tutored him IRL and when he came back home, he started to get into the game surprisingly quickly. He's a top one now, and will win a tournament soon.

So, I'd like to add a relevant award (like in NBA): most improved player. Sadly, this won't be The_Joker:
    Name: Golden Gyarados
Reason: I just notice that, and he's on a hot streak. Laddering, Raish and me hit him hard many times, and what doesn't kill you...
    Honorable mention: The_Joker

    Award: Best Innovator
    Name: Raish
Reason: He's the top guy in using weird things successfully the first time he does so.
Honorable mention: Isa and Piexplode. I saw them using weird things. In Piexplode's case even too much, lol.

    Award: Best Player
    Name: marcoasd
Reason:Voting myself would look awkward most of the time, but the evidence is there.
Honorable mention: GGFan, who is the second best player of the year number wise.

    Award: Best Mentor
    Name: Raish
Reason: Raish is not the guy who will be around all the time, but he puts in a lot of quality and effort when he is.
    Honorable mentions:
marcoasd: This is a case where I could name myself, as I tutored ALLALA and the entire italian community, making it the strongest RBY community of the world.
Isa: never forget he was my mentor.

    Award: [/B]Best Discussion Creator
    Name: magic9mushroom
Reason: He's the competent guy, see Lapras vs Chansey 1vs1.
Honorable mentions: Jorgen, Ortheore, Actaeon, Isa, Lutra and many others who I might forget because there are many who can make a good point, but very few who can raise the level to science like the mathematician does.

    Award: Outstanding Achievement
    Name: The Joker
Reason: Let's be honest, first of all he deserves at least an award. He's one of the only three guys to win a Master Tournament, and that's amizing how he emerged.

    Award: Career Achievement/Hall of fame
    Name: Crystal_, marcoasd
Reason: Crystal will be remembered forever for his research, as we still struggle to believe its results. Meanwhile he is a great player as well, while this might not be the major reason he will be an hall of famer, at this point.
I have my place there for this year alone. No matter what will happen, I will be remembered as the god of paraslam era: having mechanics changed puts ice on the cake.

    Name: ALLALA haxes
Reason: coz haxed me all times. Srsly, me and ALLALA made good points in last 2 seasons, won PP old, took 1&3 place in winter break, but my fren rekted me in winter break and multitype battle, that's why he is the best(but i got season silver, you not :p)

    Award: Outstanding Achievement
    Name: Mister Tim
Reason: two flying types in multitype, 3 and 2 silvers bronzes in winter break, 2 bronzes and 1 silver in MT, in Russia we call it ебать ты лох and this is Outstanding Achievement

    Award: Best Player
    Name: marcoasd
    Reason: i rekt him once

    Award: Best Newcomer
    Name: ALLALA
Reason: I was waiting for months to vote him for this: last year I was really impressed seeing this player coming out from nowhere. As marcoasd said, he was a noob at the start, while I played few months in 2013 too (even if I started tours only in 2014). Now he's one of the top RBYers here, compliments!

    Award: Best Innovator
    Name: Ortheore, marcoasd
Reason: I saw lots of new things this years in RBY, both in teams' cores, original pokemons and sets; as GGFan said, marco was the one using surprising moves (expecially on his Chansey) the most and using Kangaskhan too. Kingler made his first appearence this year thanks to me, Ortheore and Isa/Raish (I don't remember correctly, sorry). Raish used a team with Lapras+Zapdos, Marco with Lapras+Slowbro, Ortheore with Cloyster+double electrics: seems that he learned a lot from bomber (who deserves a special mention for using Venomoth in a Break Tournament!). There is also a marco's team that very few here have seen, in which there is only Lax among the top 4. Acteon tried a few things with his Articuno too. Maybe if I had played more with some players I might have seen even more things. For what I saw, I think marco and Ortheore were the most original players, even if nobody invented something similar to the Withdraw Slowbro by m9m in 2013.

    Award: Best Player
    Name: marcoasd
Reason: easy choice here: he's the best in the world right now and he proved it with a fantastic year. He never gives up despite bad luck and never lacks of motivation in every game he play: a true champion. GGfan the obvious 2nd place.

    Award: Best Mentor
    Name: marcoasd
Reason: I'm not totally impartial here, because he is my mentor! But I saw him tutoring lots of italian players and ALLALA: I think he did a good job!

    Award: Best Discussion Creator
    Name: Isa
Reason: m9m did a great work in the Lapras vs Chansey calculation and I hope he'll do other similar works; GGFan created the MOTY discussion that I personally enjoy a lot, because I think that seeing great matches is the first step to become a better player! But I think the best discussion is "Isa narrates battles!" on rby2k10, with battle comments too, that in my opinion is the only lack of ggfan's videos.

    Award: Outstanding Achievement
    Name: marcoasd
Reason: 7/9 in Master Tournaments and semifinals in the World Championship, where he faced in the first two stages Isa, Bomber, During Summer, me and ALLALA and ending first in both groups. Nothing else to say.

    Award: Career Achievement
    Name: Crystal
Reason: He has just changed this game forever and he did a great job throught years studying this game in deep.

This should count as a vote for me, as votes for yourself don't.

Also, it makes no sense to acknowledge other communities in an attempt to decide the most important and accomplished people of Pokemon Perfect. Moreover, it hurts Pokemon Perfect's credibility.

It is listed under linguaspheric communities

    this thread is definitely amusing

marco not forgetting my parasect/non lead jynx/ditto/ninetales/dragonite/kingler team :]]]]]]]

I'll be honest I don't feel that I've innovated whatsoever and I find it odd to be nominated for that. I've used non standard stuff badly and that's kinda it.. nowadays it's non-existant to see moves used on pokemon they hadn't used previously, and very rare to see not-before-used combinations of moves on pokemon. I wonder if in the coming few years anyone elses name will be immortalized in a set name. Tobybro? Raish Chansey, M9m slowbro.. to be honest I think Tobybro is the only one I've heard used consistently and recognisably, and even then it seems a fairly obvious set. Also, this SPL, it'll be fun seeing Pokemon Perfect players performing at the very top - Isa, Raish, Marcoasd, Lutra, The_Joker all have my support B] I'll be busy duking it out in farm league with kid gf lol, Ortheore, During Summer, and some smogon peeps.

We all kinda expect a certain result :p in best player but nevertheless seeing GGFan returning to an honest glory is pleasant to see too.

Discussion Creator is a weird one since Smogon/2k10 is where the majority of OU discussion is held, and judging just on PP discussion makes the category a bit mis-representative. The way I see it, PP is mainly for Tournaments, Team rating, and then anything that springs forth from that, as well as maybe effective mirrors of discussion from elsewhere.

Outstanding/Career Achievement also gets weird when mention of Crystal_ comes up. Judging on pure PP, they obviously aren't going to win either.

As this all stands, I'd argue that a combination of the whole of the RBY community (here, 2k10, smogon, PO, the foreign-language ones, IRC??) should all be relevant bar newcomer/player maybe. and PP exclusive and non-PP exclusive could be made within oustanding/career seems to make sense to me. Mentor one as it stands makes 0% sense in PP context only (this will change soon) so currently that should in no way be PP-exclusive. I think the only prequisite that must be satisfied for all of them is having an account here (shouldn't be super duper relevant)

    awards are fun :3

It is listed under linguaspheric communities

First of all, no it isn't. Secondly, linguaspheric has nothing to do with Smogon, Neo SmogonJr, Isa's forum, etc; rather, it's an attempt to publicize non English-speaking communities.

Mentor one as it stands makes 0% sense in PP context only (this will change soon)

I would rather recognize people who play an active role in the community in some capacity (Marco, for example, for his reliability and dominant presence) than acquiesce to the whims of others who think people who have nothing to do with PP should matter. Furthermore, in this case, I'm sure a lot more people played Marco than Raish (or at least played Marco a lot more than Raish); therefore, I find it an injustice to this particular award to vote for somebody because you played him once or twice and thought he used something original. The argument for Marco is much stronger because, not only was he active throughout the year, but he was probably the most active tournament player as well. He was innovative on the stage that matters the most--tournament play. Raish, on the other hand, was absent for the majority of the year.

Maybe Raish was innovative in ladder games (the ladder doesn't mean anything anymore), but it's an untenable argument to proclaim somebody as the most innovative player because of some success in meaningless games. Marco, however, was a consummate teambuilder in tournament after tournament, which, to me, definitely qualifies as innovative. Additionally, he was good at changing moves from game to game and being unpredictable with them. This is what innovation is.

Bearing everything I've said, one could easily use PP to determine the rightful winner of this award. It is, after all, the community in which the highest level of competitive RBY takes place, which therefore means the majority of competitive RBY takes place on PP as well. Neo SmogonJr tournaments, ladder games, and exhibition games on PS and PO are small, vastly inferior sample sizes. Giving this award to Raish would be tantamount to giving the NBA MVP award to a player in Turkey.

Of course, I say all of this with no offense intended: Raish was one of my best opponents on the ladder last year (when it meant something). Nonetheless, somebody needs to be the voice of reason.

Sorry for the double post, but I feel it's warranted in this case.

On the contrary to the previous nomination, here's the person who made a huge step in the development of the RBY battling with his discoveries, that can't be underestimated even considering the fact Crystal is not an active member of PokemonPerfect community

Whether you agree with me or not that only people who are active on PP should matter, by voting for Crystal you admit that discovering some things--at the very end of the year--are more significant than having one of the most dominant years in competitive Pokemon history. Let me underscore this: competitive Pokemon history. Not merely RBY, but competitive.

Again, Crystal's research wasn't posted until the very end of the year. Moreover, these changes haven't even been implemented into simulators. How can there be change, then, if nobody has been adhering to it? Nothing has happened yet, nor was anything discovered until after Marco won his seventh PP tournament. Let's at least wait until we can actually play this new metagame. In the meantime, I'm voting for the guy who was the most outstanding in the community that matters the most.

I can't tell you who invented the concept of American football, but I can tell you who the greatest players in NFL history are.
