Well, the point of "Earth will remain habitable" is sound. And technically, temperatures have changed faster before - during the K-T asteroid winter, for instance. We're looking at mass extinction, certainly, but not runaway-moist-greenhouse doomsday.
(We probably could do the latter if we wanted to, but we're unlikely to do it by accident.)

Are there usage stats for the PP servers somewhere?
I don't think so. I'm not sure how those are collected etc. whether it's something servers besides main and smogtours can even do
It's just that PO's main server seems to have dried up and the Showdown stats have Egg as #3 lead and Golem ~= Rhydon so I don't really feel comfortable quoting them.
Yeah PO is dead, PS ladder is probably okay if it's weighted, and you can look at SPL and WCoP tournament stats on Smogon. Pick your poison.
Egg is #4 lead on 1500 and 1630 weighting and #2 on 1760 weighting. Rhydon is above all non-Starmie Waters on all weightings, never more than one place below Golem (biggest gulf is 20%/17%) and above Golem on 1760.
I mean there isn't anywhere 'good' these days to get representative usage stats, but that's pretty much been the case since it stopped being the case that everyone competitively played on the ladder. That's why I say pick your poison, or otherwise just don't use usage stats as evidence for things.
If you want I could collect usage stats in the RBY 1U World Championship this year, for some decently representative stats from a tournament with a lot of games (133 games total last time) which will largely be high quality.
Also, not to put too fine a point on it, but that signature is kind of an eyesore. Lutra's is almost as bad, but at least he doesn't post too much so it's not plastered everywhere.

Not really, it's just huge and I've read it already. It's not as eye-grabbing, though.
It's not like I'm telling either of you to get rid of it; I'm just registering that I personally find them annoying.
I think there might be a setting somewhere where you can disable seeing signatures...
