So, many moons ago, I was one of the worst players of Pokemon Online in the entire galaxy. Now I seem to find my favourite tier in Monotype and I've gone from 'awful' to 'okay'. But still, most of my lack of skill is in playing, and I've seen my Normal team so far to be somewhat successful. So here it is.

Ambipom ("Slapper") w/Normal Gem
Ability: Techician
EVs - 4 HP, 252 Atk, 252 Spe, Adamant nature
Fake Out
Frustration
Low Kick
U-Turn

Unlike usual leads, which set up hazards or screens or similar for their team to take advantage off, this team uses Slapper as a lead to disrupt and kill opposing leads. Fake Out is used to break enemy sashes and Sturdy, whilst Frustration is the STAB option of choice. Low Kick is used to cover resistances of Normal attacks (and it's variable power is covered by it's Technician ability) and U-Turn is used to GTFO and build momentum, since it's final moveslot is basically filler anyway. With this set, provided Ambipom survives the opening, it can be used as a revenge killer with it's +3 priority Technician-boosted Fake Out or used as one of the team's physical attackers.

Chansey ("Eggy Bread") w/Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs - 252 HP, 252 Def, 4 Spe, Bold nature
Softboiled
Seismic Toss
Aromatherapy
Toxic

Eggy Bread is our chosen wall for this set. Between her massive HP, Eviolite and Defense EV investment, Eggy Bread can actually act as a physical wall as well as the special wall she is usually seen as, taking neutral physical hits surprisingly well. She's mostly used as a Wall +1 to most other walls, wearing them down with Toxic and healing status with Natural Cure or Aromatherapy, whilst still being able to dish out damage with Seismic Toss. Softobiled is the mandatory recovery for any wall.

Porygon-Z ("Ditzy Duck") w/Life Orb
Ability: Adaptibility
EVs - 4 HP, 252 SpA, 252 Spe, Modest nature
Tri-Attack
Ice Beam
Thunderbolt
Agility

Ditzy Duck is a monstrous special attacker, only held back by it's poor Speed and Defenses. What Ditzy Duck needs to do to succeed is find a gap to set up an Agility and then go to town with Tri-Attack, now outspeeding most oppositin and using Boltbeam coverage to hit anything that resists Tri-Attack. Simple as.

Staraptor ("Angry Bird") w/Choice Band
Ability: Reckless
EVs - 4 HP, 252 Atk, 252 Spe, Adamant nature
Brave Bird
Double-Edge
Close Combat
U-Turn

Angry Bird is, great at hitting hard and fast, however always be aware when using Angry Bird that with Reckless and Choice Band boosted recoil moves, it may well damage itself as much as it's enemy. Be warned about using Double-Edge or Close Combat if you know any enemy Ghost-types are around, as being choice locked into a Normal or Fighting type move can give those Ghosts time to set up.

648.gif

Meloetta ("Singstar") w/Life Orb
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs - 4 HP, 252 SpA, 252 Spe, Modest nature
Charge Beam
Hyper Voice
Psyshock
Hidden Power (Fire)

Singstar is on this set a pseudo-mixed attacker - since Psyshock attacks the enemy Defense rather than it's Special Defense. It takes advantage of Serene Grace to boost whilst still attacking as Charge Beam has a 100% chance to boost under Serene Grace. Hyper Voice is the STAB option on this set, and Psyshock is what makes this set potent as a mixed attacker, even with it's Base Power of 80. Hidden Power Fire rounds out coverage for this set, hitting Steel-types that would otherwise wall it.

Ditto ("You") w/Choice Scarf
Ability: Impostor
EVs - 252HP, all others irrelevant.
Transform

The revenge killer in Dream World tiers, You is best to take out boosted threats that otherwise pose a massive threat to your own team, and turn that tide against them. You is especially effectve against Dragon and Ghost monos, as they are weak to their own STABs, although specific usage notes are impossible, since You is anything from Garchomp to Terrakion.

So, what of it? I see above me a mononormal that has all bases covered, some good offense and defense, although very obviously more geared to the former, and takes good advantage of Normal's great offensive coverage to really dish out the hurt. But what do you think?

This looks familiar didn't I already rate this on the pokemon online forums?... anyways it's a good team with any monotype team you want to capitalize on speed and coverage as one move can often take out an entire team normal is great for this as it gets such large movepools however I am a little worried about your lack of priority as a strong fast fighting type could spam close combat/hi jump kick and easily defeat you. For that reason I would give ambipom either a life orb or focus sash so you can fire off strong fake outs more then once or live through a hit and retaliate. Ambipom is good being fast with good priority I personally would scarf your porygon-z as you have far less need to switch moves in monotype ex. against mono dragon spam icebeam Options for the last slot include psychic for monofight or darkpulse for mono ghost or even trick but I wouldn't recommend it as I prefer coverage in monotype. Starapter wants jolly or a scarf it's too frail to take a hit meaning you need to outspeed I would also give it intimidate as it would be your #1 check against monofighting and intimidate would allow switch ins overall it's a great pokemon for a mononormal because it takes neutral damage from fighting and with the possible exception of togekiss it's the best normal/flying that being said scarf togekiss could also work for this team. Meloetta once again ads a neutrality to fighting and is a useful pokemon for mononormal however I am concerned by it's low speed I was thinking you could make it a sub set something like this could work:

Meloetta @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 136 SAtk / 120 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Psyshock
- Substitute
- Hidden Power [Fire]/Other coverage move.
- Charge Beam/Calm Mind

this gives it much more bulk for switching into threats.

Ditto is practically manditory for mononormal and does a damn good job most monodrags rage quit when you copy their +2 dragon. However never say
EVs - 252HP, all others irrelevant.
on the extremely rare occasion we both switch in a ditto as the last pokemon I will always win as my ditto has 252 defense and 0 speed iv's meaning you will struggle first and do less damage. Oh and make sure to give ditto a useful hidden power.

yah I did post on this before
original posting:
hey plumbum nice looking team here I use a similar one myself normally I would suggest darkpulse+hp fighting on porygon-z to hit ghost/steel/rock types but seeing as this is monotype icebeam/thunderbolt would be very nice to have against mono dragon/water/flying/grass ect...

I would recommend a focus sash or life orb on ambi as normal gem only works once and you'd like to have a strong fake out for later.

EVs - 252HP, all others irrelevant.
never say the other ev's are irreverent my ditto will always beat yours with it's 252 defense...

I would scarf either melo or star as you have nothing that is fast off the bat except a 1 time use Strong fake out.

you actually want to be as slow as possible to struggle last and make sure to give it transform so you don't struggle right away.

Give it:

Ditto @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Imposter
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Transform
with 2 speed ev's (max power Hp Ice)
extremely rare I know but you'll win at least.
